Japan Center of International and Comparative
Environmental Law
"Japan Center of International and Comparative
Environmental Law" as NGO of Environmental Law in Japan,
was established as a research institution
in "Commercial Law Center, Inc."
for studying world's legislation of environment,
including that of Japan.
Professors of environmental law and persons
in charge of environmental section of enterprises
are main members of this think tank. "Commercial
Law Center, Inc." is recognized as a
non-profit organization under the supervision
of the Japanese Ministry of Justice and specializes
"Business Law".
Since 1991, "Japan Center of International
and Comparative Environmental Law" has
been undertaking a research about national
studies concerning "Legislation"
of environmental law. This research was entrusted
by Ministry of the Environment.
ACTIVITIES
- Research
- Policy research regarding environmental problems
and research about national studies concerning
legislation of environmental law
- Seminar and Lecture
- Organization of seminars and lectures on
environmental topics such as Waste and Recycle,
Global warming, Environmental management
and so on.
- Translation and Publication
- Translation and Publication for environmental
information and outreach, such as “Environmental
Laws in the world”, “Current Policy
and
Law of Wastes”,“The Kyoto Protocol
: International
Climate Policy for the 21st century”and
so on.
- International Symposium
- Support to cross-border activities for the
environment such as the organization
of the
international symposiums ;“The conservation
and management of the wildlife”, “The
conference
of the policy and law regarding COP3
”,“The
compliance and enforcement of the international
environmental law” and so on.
- Support of Networking
- Operation of the Secretariat of "Japan
Association for Environmental Law and Policy"（established
in 1997）, and support of networking between
environmentally minded academic, researcher,
administrator, businessman and so on.
